We are so glad to have you in our area — we created this guide to help you get plugged in and connected to your neighbors , schools , and all things River Region .
Our family moved to the area in 2003 after living in Atlanta , the Midwest , and Germany — the Hyundai expansion brought many jobs , including my husband ’ s . Back then , I think I saw a tumbleweed blowing on a downtown street . But not anymore ! The transformation in the last decade has created an atmosphere that I know you will enjoy discovering with your family !
The River Region is a mid-sized area with both big city offerings and small town charm — we love it and hope you will too ! If we can answer any questions or bring you a welcome basket , please let us know !

Meet the Scott family
Photography by Brooke Glassford , Colorbox Photography Neil and Haley Scott met at Faulkner University in Montgomery . Haley has called the River Region home all of her life , and Neil grew up in middle Tennessee , moving to Montgomery for college . The two have been married for twelve years and have two kids , West ( 4 year old son ) and Eliza Jane ( 10 month old daughter ), and an old , aloof cat named Kramer . They moved to Wetumpka five years ago , drawn in by the charming downtown Wetumpka neighborhood and growing city . They love having a “ front-row seat ” to the areas expanding culture , arts , and riverfront development . Neil is an Enrollment Consultant for the Alabama Community College System , and Haley is the face behind Haley Scott Living . She specializes in interior design and consulting , special events , and florals . The family attends University Church of Christ in Montgomery and often take advantage of all downtown Wetumpka has to offer . From gourmet hotdogs to fantastic shopping and frequent events , it ’ s quite a time to call Wetumpka home ! distribution & office manager Amber Estes
