AT THE LAKE

LAKE JORDAN is a 6,800-acre lake with 188 miles of shoreline in the city of Wetumpka , supporting high densities of sport fish and forage species . Constructed to provide flood control and provide hydroelectricity , the lake has also become a popular place for boating , swimming , and fishing .
Lake Jordan can be accessed by way of public and private boat ramps , as well as several private marinas . Public and private boat ramps , as well as several private marinas provide access to Lake Jordan . Two popular public boating access areas include Bonner ’ s Point on the west side of the lake and Rotary Landing to the east .
The most common sport fish found in Lake Jordan include the Alabama spotted bass , largemouth bass , hybrid striped bass , bluegill , redear sunfish , and black and white crappie .
Chimney Rock and the lower level jump , affectionately named , “ Chicken Rock ”
LAKE MARTIN , one of the largest man-made lakes in the world , is a popular recreation area for swimming , boating , fishing , water skiing , camping , and golfing . The lake borders the cities of Dadeville , Eclectic , and Alexander City .
The lake is home to several landmarks , such as the Kowaliga Bridge and Goat Island , but perhaps the most famous of all is Chimney Rock , a large rock formation that resembles ( you guessed it !) a chimney . Chimney Rock is visited by thousands of boaters each year who park in front of the rock to watch daredevils climb up 60 feet to jump off into the water .
