The Week Before
Start drinking lots of water - great for a glowing skin on the photo's
Review list of things to bring to dressing venue. Double check everything
Arrange for rental items to be returned after wedding
The maid of honour must know everything – make sure she knows who, when, where, what
Walk in your shoes to get them comfortable – tell the bridesmaids to do the same
Give Best Man or Wedding Co-ordinator remaining balances to paid to vendors on wedding day
Pack all décor/ accessories and arrange for delivery
Review ceremony seating with ushers and order of events with everyone involved
Prepare/ plan for meals on wedding day. (Schedule time to eat or you’ll forget).
Remember an overnight case! Lock your suitcase and put it into the car yourself
Wedding Day
Stay in bed as long as you can - it 'll be the last time you do so as a "Miss". Savour the quiet time.
Try not to talk to him, but if you must, just once … let the excitement build!
Have a good breakfast!
Give your phone to your maid of honour – she must handle the calls from suppliers etc.
Drink lots of water - stay hydrated.
Give Grooms' ring to maid of honour
Give Brides' ring to best man
Follow your programme
Have a light snack before you go
Go to the bathroom before you go – sit on it back to front, like on a motorbike … not elegant, but easier!
Throughout the day, remember to stop and look around to take in the moment
Relax and enjoy. Leave everything up to your vendors. They’re professionals for a reason.
Leave the party for a moment - enjoy some alone time outside with your husband
Make time for your Mom and Dad at the party
If you both have kids from previous relationships, make sure to spend some time alone with your child/children
Touch up your make-up often
It’ll be over before you know – enjoy every moment.
