The Director's
Diary
“There is no need for temples, no
need for complicated philosophies.
My brain and my heart are my
temples;
my
philosophy
is
kindness.”
This is an excerpt from the insightful
teachings of His Holiness, The Dalai
Lama, who visited the Somaiya
campus from 30th May, 2014 to 2nd
June, 2014. It was a great privilege to
have him on the campus. It was
overwhelming to see the response
from the people residing in Mumbai
and outside the city from small towns
and villages of Maharashtra, UP,
Rajasthan and the Himalayan regions,
who came in huge numbers to be
graced by his teachings. The local
expatriate community from US, France, Finland and Ukraine
was also present to specially attend his sermon. The other
special guests included a large group of Tibetans, some
very senior monks who were a part of His Holiness'
entourage and the organizers of the Tibetan festival. SIMSR,
the management institution of the Somaiya Vidyavihar
campus, was fortunate to witness and participate in the
festivity of this event that showcased the Tibetan culture and
His Holiness's preaching.
