be daunting, especially when

Peter was less than 48 hours old the first time he began screaming
uncontrollably. He wasn’t hungry, wet, cold, hot or looking to
cuddle. As the weeks progressed, Peter’s screaming intensified,
especially during breastfeeding. The midwife, Plunket nurse and
GP all encouraged me to wait until he was three months old, when
he might grow out of it. However, it soon became clear that Peter
was allergic to dairy and wheat.

to eat at first and visiting friends or
restaurants became a nightmare.
However that difficulty paled in
comparison to the challenge of
feeding a picky dairy-and glutenfree toddler! My culinary prowess
was put to the test and after
innumerable failed recipes, I've
created a dairy and gluten-free
cookbook of recipes sure to meet
the strictest toddler standards,
whilst satisfying the whole of the
family's palate. Below are three of
Peter's favourite recipes.
