longer motos at the start of the week and then go to shorter ones .
HOW DO YOU TRAIN ? Pre-season we do 45 minute motos and about three of them a day in the sand , then I will cycle for two hours plus . On other days I do shorter motos , but then I will do a three to four hour cycle ride and then hit the gym . Preseason is normally five days of hard work with Sunday as a complete rest day . When we start racing it slows down little with the longer days , but still doing two hour cycles once or twice a week , and the gym two to three times a week . I ’ ll ride maybe three times a week . I also like to get out on the mountain bike and I also swim .
DO YOU HAVE A DIET TO FOLLOW ? Yeah , I try and stay pretty clean with the diet . Eating healthily is key here in the USA as the fast-food places and restaurants have some great food but its always very big in portion . After a long day of GNCC racing there isn ’ t much better than a good burger . I love chicken wraps , and maybe a good steak .
WHERE DO YOU LIVE ? I have my own house with my girlfriend , Nikki , in Pennsylvania . I come home from training all day and dinner is made . Nikki washes my gear and clothes and has me ready to go with a lunch packed for the next day . I am very lucky to have her supporting me . I do cook sometimes out on the BBQ !
BIKE DETAILS SUSPENSION : WP Suspension Cone Valve , Tracks Shock , supplied by KTM USA , JDP Suspension . These are proven to handle what we do , the air forks build up too much . HANDLEBARS : Pro Taper stock KTM bend . TRIPLE CLAMPS : KTM Power Parts for more bar positions and angles . BRAKES : KTM . We use stock with stronger pistons and hoses ( we take the sight glass out in case they blow out ). DISCS : Pro X . I use an oversize front disc and a solid rear disk . The front gives better feel and the rear won ’ t overheat .
LEVERS : Mojo Powersports . They ’ re an unbreakable lever . CLUTCH : Hinson . This is what KTM Factory builds motors with . They last and feel great . EXHAUST : FMF Titanium . Our motors are mapped for the FMF and it adds low end power . SPROCKETS : Pro X 14 / 50 . I used to run a 13 front , but when I started riding for KTM Factory Supported Team , they told me to use a 14 because it aligns the chain making the suspension and chassis work better . GRIPS : Pro Taper Race Cut Half Waffle . I really like a soft feeling grip for the long 3 hour races . They ’ re pretty beat after three hours , but luckily I get new ones each race . FOOTPEGS : IMS Core . Super strong and sharp with a large foot placing . SEAT : Seat Concepts Gripper . Helps me stay up front on the bike . PLASTICS : Acerbis . GRAPHICS : Senge Graphics . I have used these guys for three years and their stuff fits the best and the service is awesome . TYRES : Dunlop . I run the MX33 front and the AT81 rear , unless it ’ s muddy and really rutty , then I use the MX33 rear . MOUSSES : Yup I use mousses . This is a must as GNCC tracks are very gnarly and to get a flat would cost you a lot of time .
