SECOND OPINION I ’ ll admit big bikes on the open road aren ’ t really my thing . However , Suzuki ’ s new high-speed behemoth got me thinking … now I ’ m a little more ‘ mature ’ in years , would I see the Hayabusa in a new light ? Like most , I do enjoy engaging the animal performance of big bikes . However , in the past knowing all that ferocious performance is ‘ there ’ on the road had worn me down . The original Hayabusa has a huge reputation . The biggest , baddest and , to many , the best . For me the appeal of something like the new Hayabusa is its potential ability to do a bunch of sporty stuff well . Blast down the country , booyah ! Coromandel loop , zooop ! Or go for a zap at a track day , Rrrrappp ! The new Hayabusa has had a bunch of ‘ you will play nice ’ electronic manners added ( or at least its level of aggression can be user-defined ). Al , Mike and the guys at Colemans in Auckland ( Wow , their new shop is impressive ) ran me through the myriad of menus . I don ’ t profess to understand it all , but I did think that Suzuki had done a good job of hitting what a rider would think to want , as well as giving many we hadn ’ t thought to desire . The key thing for me was there was provision to set the bike for three users .
