There was a time when waxed cotton gear was for my dad . There was a good reason for that . When he was riding bikes , it was the only choice for the rider wanting to stay dry ( ish ). And it looked good . He literally wore that poor Belstaff waxed cotton suit completely out ; I remember cleaning it and applying fresh wax to it in an attempt to rejuvenate the stalwart gear back to semi-life .
