ROYAL ENFIELD HIMALAYAN GETS NEW STYLING AND MORE FOR 2022
Royal Enfield has announced the new 2022 Himalayan will be arriving in Kiwi dealers in the next month , priced from $ 8190 , but it ’ s not just Euro5 compliance that they ’ ve added to the bike for the coming model year . Royal Enfield ’ s Himalayan brings a lot to the table despite its modest price point , and for the 2022 model , the bike just gets more enticing with updated aesthetics including three new colourways , better suspension and the Euro5 emissions tick . Already a well-rounded package – especially in the entry end of the adventure bike segment – the 2022 updates help cement the value proposition that the Himalayan has to offer . It ’ s still simple , capable , and approachable but has been further refined with some welcome additions . On top of the previously mentioned additions , Royal Enfield has also redesigned the rear luggage carrier for added strength and better carrying capacity which also sees it sitting closer to level with the pillion seat , while the dash now gains the TFT Tripper navigation system that debuted on the Meteor 350 earlier this year . With the recent news that Apple doesn ’ t recommend mounting their products to bikes due to the potential damage caused by engine vibrations , the Tripper ( which utilises Google Maps for its base functions ) is a welcome and
handy addition - particularly for a bike in the adventure segment . Power remains the same for the 411cc single-cylinder despite the updates for Euro5 emissions with 24.3hp at 6500rpm backed by 32Nm of torque at 4250rpm . The brakes are backed by dual-channel ABS which can see the system switched off at the 17-inch rear wheel for good ol ’ skid-tastic fun in the dirt . The front remains an off-road friendly 21-inch wrapped in 90 / 90-21 rubber . Being an adventure bike comfort is a priority and , while Royal Enfield has redesigned the windscreen , they ’ ve also had a go at making the 800mm seat more comfortable for long stints in the saddle . Pricing for the 2022 Himalayan is split over three paint options . The base is $ 8190 ( plus on-road cost ) for the Mirage Silver and Gravel
Grey colourways , Rock Red and Lake Blue are priced at $ 8390 ( plus OTR ) while the Pine Green and Granite Black bikes are priced at $ 8590 plus OTR . The new Himalayan is expected to arrive here in mid-October . Pre-orders are open at Royal Enfield dealers .
