greatest feature , but using maximum revs is still the way forward when wanting to go quickly . However , like all bikes this approach will drain the 15 litre fuel tank a tad quicker ... Make no mistake though , this LAMS engine Kawasaki will still have you in license loss territory very quickly . It ’ s a really great engine , very user friendly , capable and quick without being intimidating and yet still fun .
CHASSIS The chassis is very impressive . The 24-degree steering angle helps give agility , stability and directness in excellent harmony and it ’ s quirk free whether turning on or off the gas and changing lines mid turn when necessary – idiot proof springs to mind . Grippy 120 / 70 17 front and 160 / 60 17 rear rubber aids the balance at speed and in the turns , it feels more composed and reassuring than a few much more expensive bikes I have ridden lately . Great suspension action ensures confidence-inspiring handling too , which is doubly impressive when you consider the suspension components are fairly low tech with only rear suspension preload adjustment possible . On poor tarmac surfaces in the local area the suspension surprised with its compliance and control even when pushing reasonably hard . The conventional forks are 41mm in diameter with 125mm wheel travel and the shock is a horizontal back-link mounted item delivering 130mm of wheel travel . Ergonomically the Kawasaki is designed with operator confidence in mind . Higher , wider and straighter bars than a sports bike offer improved everyday control from a more commanding upper body and arm / hand position . A low 790mm seat height and a slim through the middle layout greatly helps riders get their feet firmly planted on the ground .
