F or 2020 the Triumph Tiger is all new - it ’ s now a 900 and with a simplified model lineup . Starting with a base model , then GT and GT Pro for the road , with Rally and Rally Pro for those a bit more dirt oriented . There is also a low seat height iteration . Our test machine was the top of the line GT Pro roadfocused model . In essence this model is an Adventure styled tarmac road touring bike , but capable enough on gravel roads , considering the road tyres .

NEW ENGINE The new liquid cooled , DOHC 12-valve , inline triple engine has a larger bore to give 888cc , and comes with a new off-beat 1-3-2 firing order ( the previous 800 was a 1-2-3 engine ). It now produces 87Nm of torque at 7250rpm and 70kW ( 94hp ) at 8750 . Triumph went in search of greater low-down grunt and response , apparently for a more dynamic feel off-road – there is no doubt this was successful and it ’ s certainly good on the road too . The engine has also been moved forward in the chassis 40mm , down 20mm and rotated six degrees forward . And , there are now twin radiators that contain a little less fluid , but have greater cooling efficiency . Lastly , it has shift assist and an allnew airbox and filter is now easier to maintain . Obviously , all this malarkey of moving the engine around means a new steel trellis frame was required too . This is where the bulk of the new model ’ s 5kg weight saving came from . While the various models differ in weight
