WORLD ’ S FASTEST INDIAN Another home-grown project , although very different in every other aspect , was the building of a replica of Burt Munro ’ s record breaking Indian by the then Britten factory in Christchurch . In 2016 , we celebrated 21-years since the death of John Britten . We are all familiar with Kiwi ingenuity , and the ability to create wonders with very limited resources , and there is no better example of this than John Britten . Apparently three bikes were built for use in the film ‘ The World ’ s Fastest Indian ’, two with Ducati engines , and one with an Indian motor .
