PRODUCT REVIEW
cleaned out it was easy to see the pins and rollers were heavily pitted . They were bad enough that they had to be completely replaced . The Bike-Lift worked well on both bikes , but for the Africa Twin we needed to put some wooden blocks under the stand ’ s wheels so the back came off the ground . It lifted the Aprilia no problem at all . Suspension linkages are something that should be done annually on bikes used in dirty / wet conditions and every couple of years in normal riding , and this Bike-Lift makes the job much easier . The one thing I ’ m not keen on is the length of the threaded rod sticking out either side of the bike - I ’ ve caught my shins on it a couple of times . If it was just being used on one bike I ’ d cut them to suit the length for that bike and solve that problem . As I ’ ve been using it on multiple bikes of varying widths I ’ ve
needed a bit more adjustability . That said , I ’ ll probably still trim it a little . The Bike-Lift Centre Stand is a sturdy and versatile bit of kit that ’ s useful for any back of the bike maintenance . It also looks like it could do double duty as a spit over a fire , it ’ s certainly sturdy enough - see , I said it was versatile .
