caused me no problems either , although for roots it actually could have been a little plusher . Overall though a very good result . The brakes need a special mention because they are just like the race version and top drawer . KTM ’ s Freeride is broadly similar , but the brakes weren ’ t great . With Nissin calipers at each end and a 260mm front / 240mm rear disc combination the stopping power and feel from the XTrainer is ideal . Stoppies ? You bet .
THE LOW DOWN Overall , the Beta Xtrainer is an awesome machine , way more capable than it perhaps should be . It is extremely capable and versatile . It would be a magnificent
hill country mustering bike , an awesome trail bike and probably more capable in extreme Enduro for many riders than the full race Beta version - because it is supremely manageable . It is not a soft option and , for the keen racer , a great machine to have in the shed for extreme training . While for the upand-coming tough enduro guy it may be better than a race version in some conditions . Personally , I ’ d love one in the shed – perhaps the best play bike ever and they can be road legal too !
