KTM RELEASES 2022 RALLY REPLICA

I t ’ s like Christmas for Rally fans when KTM releases its annual replica of their desert slaying 450 Rally machine . Raced in the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship including the Dakar Rally , only 80 examples of the 2022 KTM 450 Rally Factory Replica will be made , with the bike taking development further compared to last year ’ s model thanks to feedback from Red Bull KTM Factory riders . In its 2022 trim , the KTM 450 Rally Replica is engineered to satisfy the toughest demands of rally racing , being equally efficient at powering through sand dunes ( important these days with the Dakar being based in the sandbox of Saudi Arabia ) at high speed as it is at navigating hard-packed technical sections . The bike is built around KTM ’ s ultra-reliable

450cc , SOHC , fuel-injected engine and breathes through a full Akrapovic exhaust . Being a rally machine , KTM has the customer bike kitted out with the same long range fuel tanks and navigation tower as the factory race bikes , along with tuned WP XACT PRO close cartridge forks and XACT PRO rear shock . The bike also retains a PANKL Racing Systems gearbox , producing a more linear gear spread , giving the same gear ratios as those found on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machines . The first examples of the very limited run are expected to be released in September and are priced at € 25,900 plus taxes and shipping . If any enterprising Kiwi with a fetish for KTM ’ s finest gets hold of one of these before November 1 , it could potentially be road registered before ABS becomes mandatory .
