without being unnecessarily tough on the body , which is fantastic . In fact , it ’ s one of the most quick , but relaxing long distance , ground eating machines I ’ ve ridden in a good while . At high speed in the open it will head shake a little because , like the 250 , it is plushly suspended , but only in a minor way compared to bikes of yesteryear . And sure , it doesn ’ t have that last few percent of extreme pace in the rough of the YZ450FX , or quite the excess of power , but I guarantee all but the very best riders will be going quicker at the end of a long tough day on the WR .
ROAD REGISTERED Both machines are fully able to be road registered and legally ridden on the road , which offers any keen explorer a
multitude of options . They are great bikes with a genuinely excellent build quality that stands the test of time . Over the last five or so years Yamaha has subtly been fine-tuning these models with real gains in ergonomics and steering precision . The suspension action is ideal for enduro work bar perhaps for truly elite riders , but non-elite racers and trail riders will just love the feel . Also , the braking action strikes a great balance between feel and strength across very slick to high traction areas . They have two power modes . One for slippery tight terrain and one for open aggressive requirements . And you can tune them from your phone , but I wouldn ’ t bother , they go great as standard .
