the second half of the Marathon stage , but Lettenbichler remained at top overall by coming in just 2minutes and 22 seconds behind Young in fourth for the day . Pushing right from the start on day four , Lettenbichler threw down the gauntlet to his rivals , going fastest on four of the first five checkpoints . After easing off the gas towards the end of the day to ensure no mistakes were made in the closing stages of the race , the 2019 WESS Champion ultimately finished over three minutes ahead to increase his total race advantage to an incredible 27 minutes and 28 seconds , after close to 20 hours of racing . “ I ’ m over the moon now to win this race and also make it my third Red Bull Romaniacs win in a row , an ecstatic Lettenbichler said post-race . “ It ’ s been a really good week to be fair . It ’ s had everything , tough long days at an insanely high pace . I have to give it to Graham Jarvis , he was on fire the first days and it ’ s a shame he got injured . For sure he pushed my pace up and forced the level so high . I think that ’ s why I got such a strong lead too . Overall , I ’ m just excited and ready to soak up this victory . I ’ m also leading the championship now too , so there ’ s a lot to celebrate about this week .” The win moves Lettenbichler to the top of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship standings with four rounds remaining . Understandably , this year saw no Kiwis making the journey to the other side of the world to take part in this year ’ s Romaniacs . Registration for next year ’ s 19th edition of Red Bull Romaniacs opens on October 1 at midday Central European Time .
