DEALER FOCUS Another learning curve came along with more fuel injected bikes turning up. Power Commanders/ Bazzaz units and many other fuel controllers replaced pilot jets/needles and main jets. Around 2015 I was taking a few calls a week about ECU flashing. To start with I would say it wasn’t my thing, but after I’d turned down a lot of inquiries I thought I’d better look into it. After looking at the options I went with Woolich Racing Software, which is based out of Brisbane, Australia. Yep... you guessed it another $5000 to get set up to do that. The system is very good and allows many adjustments directly into the standard ECU. With quick-shifters and pitlane speed limiters on many models as well, that was another learning curve. With so many adjustments, over 100,000 on a ZX-10R, there is a huge amount to get your head around. THE NEXT CHAPTER In 2017 we decided to move south. Paeroa sounded like a good place, after all they had the street race! A call to Mark Whyte at Whyteline was made and he said, “Let me give you the tip... It’s a great place, get down here and we will sort something out”. We sold up and moved to Paeroa, set up a great dyno room at Whyteline and we are back to business as usual. I have been involved in many projects, including setting the NZ Land Speed Record with Scott Wilkins and his Kawasaki H2R, and the BRM Super Quad of Ian Ffitch. We’ve worked with the trackday pilots out to have a good time, through the guys who have built their bikes from a pile of bits but cannot make them run right, to the countless bike racers of all codes, it’s been awesome. We support the following riders; Blake Ross (Supersport 300), Zak Fuller (Pro Twins), Beno Rosendaal (Pro Twins), Turiana Banks (Supersport 300 and Hyosung Cup) and Scott Buchanan (Pre-89). CONTACT Whyteline is currently running a special where you get a 10-point bike check and a run up on the dyno for just $69 dollars – you’ll need to book in advance.
