 OVERALL The 2019 iteration of the CRF450R is a very impressive machine. The engine is fast, tractable and easy to ride. The ergonomics are brilliant and seem to suit a wide variety of rider shapes. The suspension is damn good, especially on the motocross track, and Honda build quality is really still second to none. The highlight for me was the new-found steering accuracy and the absolute confidence that comes from good Build quality; ergos; front end grip/ feel; tractability No hydraulic clutch; front brake could have more bite feedback from the front tyre – this is one very planted front end. The only down sides are a slightly soft front brake which doesn’t stack up with the rest of the package (the rear brake is excellent) and the lack of a hydraulic clutch. But that’s it, this is one very accomplished and refined machine that’ll be taking a lot of race wins over the coming season... and I would happily park one in my shed. KIWI RIDER 59
