The frame is a cool trellis-style and overall fit and finish is as you would expect from a premium manufacturer such as Honda irst impressions when you walk around the new 2019 Honda CB300R are of a compact and purposeful looking bike with all the expected modern urban street- sport styling of bikes in this category. Honda call the style Neo-Sport Café and that really describes it well. Finished in a Matt Charcoal Grey paintwork with brushed silver accents this example looks the business and has some street appeal. The frame is a cool trellis-style and overall fit and finish is as you would expect from a premium manufacturer such as Honda. The single instrument module is easy to read and the riders seat is comfortable. The passenger seat and seat-to-peg layout might not be great for anything other than a quick trip around town but, let’s face it, the bike’s not designed for extended two-up riding. The muffler has a great rake angle to it in keeping with the bikes lines but is a bit on the large side (and quiet), although I suspect a few owners will opt for a sporty slip-on to enhance the image and add some aural depth to their riding pleasure! Climb aboard and you realise this really is a compact bike that’s also nice and light. The tank has good sculpting for knee positioning which means six-footers will fit OK, though too much more than that and the bar- seat-pegs comfort factor may be strained. KIWI RIDER 45
