may need to get rid of the board on a hard
impact, just simply kick it off.

Being locked to your board
can seem great until you have a
hard slam then it will feel like an
anchor underneath you and some
of the crashes can be pretty painful
Bindings
Bindings come in all shapes and sizes.
Some have more flex than others helping
you press on the rails where others are a
little stiffer offering more support to really
load up that rail. Bindings can be a bit of a
pain in the arse when putting them on at the
water’s edge, but you’ll find them supporting
your ankles a lot once in, Velcro ones like
liquid forces vantages make life a little easier
getting in and out with a kite in one hand.
Once you’re on the water you’ll find one of
the most noticeable differences is that you
have a much more locked in edge almost
like you can hold down more power as
opposed to straps. This is great for stomping
those big blind landings or learning that new
trick and not having to worry about one
foot coming out the strap. Being locked to
your board can seem great until you have
a hard slam then it will feel like an anchor
underneath you and some of the crashes
can be pretty painful without having the
option to ditch your board mid-air. Having all
this extra support around your ankle is nice
but a can be a bit hard on the knees. Locking
in the ankle naturally puts more pressure on
the knee joint and after a long days kiting
you may feel it a lot more than you would
using traditional straps.
Having more board control under your feet
is always helpful when trying to really tweak
out that grab or trying to get in that extra
rotation in; bindings are not for everyone but
if your pushing into wakeboard tricks, having
that extra support and control really does
help out.
