Happy New Year from everyone at Kitepix, we hope you are off to a good start for 2015! Check out what we have in store for you in our post-Christmas, holiday and travel frenzy of an issue! We all know that the UK has its ups and downs for kiting, especially when the cold sets in. So what do we brits do? – That’s right, we all dash off abroad the first opportunity we get. We lucky blighters at Kitepix have the job of hearing how you got on, trawling through your holiday snaps etc. and reporting back to the masses on what’s got us so excited worldwide that we can almost feel our toes again. In this
issue, you will get a run-down of two kiting paradises: Australia and Brazil. Kitepix jetted off to Australia for New Years and in this issue you can see what we took, where we went and how we got on! Travel Liquid Force team rider George Dufty gives his account on Brazil from a Kitesurfers perspective, including the best spots, water and wind conditions, and even what to eat and drink. And if this wasn’t enough, you can get a whole new perspective on Brazil from Blast Kiteboarding’s Marc Rowley who gives us his views on this kitesurfing haven.
Special features include an account of Abu Soma by Anna Seager (mum to sponsored rider Tom Seager), and an update from our kid Kimo and his hopes for 2015. Back in Britain – Liquid Force team rider Joe Hockley Essex’s home grown hero, braves the cold and dons all neoprene necessary to be out on the water, giving us his tips on how to get warm and stay warm whilst kiting in the British winter. For the girls – Kitepix teamed up with Sensi Bikinis and Georgina Monti to trial and test swimwear out on the water. But before
you lads get excited, this is not the classic ‘get-a-model-in-a-bikini-and-call-her-akiter’ photo shoot, these are athletes vigorously trialling, rating, and slating the latest in professional sportswear. Keep an eye out over the next few issues for thi s special feature! To help with those New Year’s resolutions on getting (and staying) healthy, Georgina Monti gives us the low down on what she eats and drinks before and after a session. As usual, if you think you have something to contribute to Kitepix, have a request, or would like to give us your feedback, email: [email protected]
