Evelyn Eshun ’ s love for design started when she was just eight years old , always moving furniture around and going from room to room decorating and reorganizing . She enrolled in the Interior Design program at Ryerson after high school and started working on her own in 1994 . Evelyn is a member of DDA , ARIDO , and IDC , which gives her the opportunity to connect with colleagues and take advantage of learning experiences . Evelyn loves learning about different interiors around the world and the way that climate affects the architects ’ and designers ’ choices . She is very hands-on with her clients and is inspired by being able to give them the dream space they have always wanted .
CANADIAN HOME TRENDS If you could have lunch with any one person in the world , who would you pick and why ?
EVELYN ESHUN I would love to have lunch with Morgan Freeman . His voice , wise nature and calm demeanor would inspire me to dig deep into that part of myself that keeps my fire lit .
CHT What advice would you give your younger self ?
EE Trust your gut and take care of yourself first so that you can be the best version of yourself for those you love most .
CHT Name one thing on your bucket list .
EE I love horses and I already crossed off part of my bucket list by going to Vienna ’ s Spanish Riding school to see the Lipizzaners in a show . I would LOVE to ride one of those horses for even a few minutes . This has been my dream since I was little .
CHT What is your favorite room in your house ?
EE I love bathrooms , which is a space where we are typically alone , prepping for the day or night . It is a space where materials , color , temperature and overall mood makes all the difference in how one begins or ends the day . - Evelyn Eshun , www . evelyneshun . com
