M y wife , Mandy often jokes that if it were up to me , our kitchen would undergo renovations every other year . But hey , can you really blame me when I ' m inundated by all these stunning designs day after day ? Last year , our family embarked on the wild ride of building our dream home ( You can watch the process in Season 2 of Marc & Mandy ' s Home Edition ! Check local listings or download our Roku Channel .) Trust me , it ’ s quite the rollercoaster ! One of the biggest challenges ? Designing the kitchen , of course .
Mandy was set on a serene , Scandinavian-inspired kitchen with plenty of white and oak . Meanwhile , I was leaning toward bold , moody colors to anchor our spacious layout . Somehow , we managed to blend our completely opposite tastes into a design we both adore !
Mandy is absolutely thrilled with our massive 10-foot island adorned with quartz countertops , while I ’ m loving how the dark cabinet base adds depth to the space . And let ’ s not forget about the custom range hood and those elegant white upper cabinets featuring glass doors – they ’ re simply flawless .
Designing together , whether it ’ s a kitchen or life itself , definitely requires compromise . But trust me , when you see the end result – it ’ s worth every debate and negotiation !
