EDITOR'S LETTER
Here We Go Again...
This year has been especially hectic. From juggling a couple
of renos to traveling, it doesn't seem like I've spent much time
relaxing and unwinding.
At the beginning of the year, Mandy and I made a pact that this
year was not going to be about renos. We were going to put
the final touches on the cottage and have a relaxing summer.
Well, when you make plans, life has a way of throwing a wrench
in it. Only a few months into the year and we are overhauling
our garage and giving the house's exterior a long overdue
makeover. Out come the color swatches, stone samples, accent
lighting and boom! We are officially in full-blown renovation
mode.
Renovations are kind of like when your wife says you are done
having kids then sees a baby and turns to you and says, "want to
have another one?" I'm the same way when it comes to renova-
tions. I see so many beautiful spaces across the country through
Canadian Home Trends Magazine and the Marc and Mandy
Show that I get inspired to renovate every time something new
comes up.
As for kitchens, I can finally say that I've selected the last of my
finishes for our cottage kitchen. I wanted a timeless cottage-chic
look, so I opted for distressed wooden floors

In case Mandy needs a hint as to what I might like
this year, this Blue Rhino Outdoor Firebowl from

cottage deck so I can enjoy a little warmth on cool
summer nights!
