talking heads The ChargeBox App Thanks to the ChargeBox App you can find your nearest ChargeBox with ease. Geo-location helps users find their closest ChargeBox charging stations based on their current location. On launch, the app shows your closest charging station relative to your position, alternatively you can use the map or search bar to find other charging stations. you’re done. All you have to do is open an available locker and attach your device to the corresponding cable. Once charging has commenced, and the system has detected it, the door can then be locked with a key. We use a unique smart locking feature (patent pending) to ensure a simple and secure service for everyone. We’re often asked why we use a key locking system rather than a keypad like some of our competitors, and the answer is simple. A traditional key is more secure than a keypad, especially in a public place where there’s a possibility of the code being seen. Another risk is that by putting security in the hands of the user, there’s a high chance that many of the pin codes used will be things like 0000, 1111, 1234 etc. Which means that criminals could approach the lockers and attempt these commonly used codes. And simply by trying them, will have a worryingly good chance of opening a locker. We believe keys are the way to guarantee security. After all, this is the way we lock and secure our homes. 6. What’s your greatest achievement? Delivering free charging at the Westfield Shopping Centre during the Olympics. In the first month of the service we provided over 60,000 free charges. This was a fantastic result after the incredibly 18 KIOSK solutions difficult logistical process required to get the stations up and running. Westfield Shopping Centre was a tricky location in terms of installation. Not only did we only have just two weeks for overnight teams to install the stations, we had to build a complete service including software and hardware. Our expertise made it possible to deliver on time, and this was just one successful project among many in over 35 countries around the world. 7. What’s next for ChargeBox? After success in sectors including shopping centres, stores and education, we would like to break down barriers to additional markets to provide free charging when and where you need it.
