Sport is becoming a bigger and more important part of Wykehamical life , with more boys playing more sports , for longer , and to a better standard than ever before .
Back in the late 1960s when the existing Physical Education Centre ( PEC ) was built , Win Coll was home to around 550 boys , had just four football teams and four cricket teams , and offered a relatively meagre selection of sports .
Today , we welcome 700 boys through our doors , field 21 football teams against Eton on a single afternoon and offer a diverse programme of nearly 30 sports to choose from .
All of which place insurmountable demands on our ageing PEC .
