GOSPEL
Luke 6: 36-38
Be merciful just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be
judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be
forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken
together, running over, will be put in your lap; for the measure you give will be the
measure you get back.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Fr Joe: We come together today to give thanks and joyful praise to our God of
loving kindness for the life and work of brother Joseph.
Reader: That God will receive our praise and thanksgiving for the life of Joseph.
Lord, hear us.
All:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Reader: For the family and friends of Joseph, that they may be consoled in their
grief by the Lord who wept at the death of his friend Lazarus.
Lord, hear us.
All:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Reader: For the doctors, nurses and carers who have lovingly cared for Joseph,
that their works of service may be richly blessed.
Lord, hear us.
All:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Reader: For all who have gone before us in faith to Eternal life, especially Joe’s
sister Sophie and his father Michael (both deceased).
Lord, hear us.
All:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Fr Joe: Father in heaven, hear our prayers for Joseph, and for all who have gone
before us in faith to Eternal life. May they be held securely in God’s
loving embrace now and for all eternity.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
