God of all consolation, open your hearts to your
word, so that, listening to it, we may comfort one
another, finding light in time of darkness and faith in
time of doubt. We ask this, through Christ our Lord.

Ecclesiasticus 44:10-15
A reading from Ecclesiasticus 44:1‑15
Here is a generous woman
whose good works have not been forgotten.
In her descendants there remain
a rich inheritance born of her.
Her descendants stand by the covenants
and thanks to them, so do their children’s children.
Their offspring will last forever, their glory will not fade.
Her body will be buried in peace,
and her name will live on for all generations.
The people will proclaim her wisdom
the assembly will celebrate her praises.
This is The Word of The Lord.
