From The Edit Desk …
ors
Although I am the
Co-Editor of the
KingdomExec. Magazine,
I generally do not write
the From The Editor’s
portion of the issue, Kevin
does that part. But as we
celebrate men in this June/
July 2014 issue, I felt to
give him a break! When
my husband and I married
in 2007, he made a verbal
promise to me that he would protect and love me.
He made this promise to me, not before the 200
people at our wedding but in an intimate one on
one conversation. No violins were playing, no
crowds to applaude, just him and I. As he vowed
this promise to me, I didn’t know how his vow was
going to be fulfilled, I just knew because of my
trust for him that he would do it. That my husband
would not let me down, that he would do whatever
in his power to make sure, in my eyes, he would
never be seen as a liar.
This level of intimacy is so important in a
marriage, but it’s even more important in our
relationship with Christ. Christ has promised us so
many wonderful things simply based on the love
He has for us, but unfortunately many of us do not
trust that He will fulfill his promises. His promises
are not fulfilled because of our emotion, tears, or
prayers but they are fulfilled and manifested in
our lives as a result of our trust and faith in Him.
Christ hands cannot move without our faith. Yes,
Heaven’s hands are tied when we do not trust God
at His word.
I believe, the lack of faith in which the Body of
Christ has operated, has caused demise in our
families, our churches and our communities. We’re
praying prayers that will never be manifested,
we’re seeking God with no expectation and we’re
knocking softly because we don’t think He will
open the door.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God. However,
the word of God needs to be preached primarily
through the first institution created by God, the
family. It is the responsibility of the head of
each household to teach their family how to be
intimate with God, how to believe God at His word
and how to walk by faith and not by sight. This
generation should NOT put the entire weight of the
“preach” to the Pastor! It’s truly time for the men
to arise, to develop an atmosphere of praise and
worship at home, so when we arrive at the church,
we bring it with us instead of waiting for it to be
given to us. It’s time for men to train their families
how to accept and walk in purpose, so that we can
raise more integral politicians, wiser teachers and
assets to society.
This month, our desire as the editors of
KingdomExec. Magazine, is to encourage Men in
the Kingdom of God to soar as eagles, reject the
chicken mentality and strive to be the generation of
men who will be the example of intimacy and faith
to their families. It’s TIME…
