The Portrait of the Five-Fold Ministry Teacher…Got Milk or Meat? Previously we discussed why five-fold ministry gifts were given and that the teacher is the central core of these ministry expressions. Here we take a look at some of the results and impact of these gifts when they are used by grace with love. When five-fold ministry gifts serve as God designed them and others receive from them, the bible says maturity is part of the byproduct. For this to occur, five-fold ministers must provide ministry that does more than teach individuals to seek after things. What are you serving – milk or meat? Do you honestly think Jesus gave such powerful gifts just so someone could teach people how to get a car? Do you honestly think He journeyed down through thirtytwo generations to give up His power, throne in glory and be separated from His Father, to suffer betrayal by those whom He thought He could trust, to pray until sweat, like drops of blood, fell from His face, to be beaten to the point that He did not look like Himself, to die on a cross, to deal with demons in hell, to exchange places with Holy Spirit, and finally distribute gifts to mankind just so you and I could pray that God would help us get a mortgage? Do you honestly think Jesus volunteered Himself to take the punishment for our sins just so we could stay on top of the latest and greatest technology? And, the only way to make this happen in part, five folders must make sure what they are feeding the people is based on a progressive spiritual diet. So, I ask again, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher, what are you serving the masses? Are you serving milk or meat? Do you know when to serve milk or meat? Does your meal plan meet the need of those with spiritual allergies and intolerance to certain spiritual truths? Do you water down your message to gain popularity and stroke egos? Does your meal plan teach individuals how to discern the times? Does your meal plan teach individuals how to interpret God’s messages in these end times? Does your meal include hard or unpopular truth? I Peter 2:2 instructs new born-again believers to desire the sincere milk (the less complicated truths/concepts) of the Word. So, you see God wants believers to grow. Given this, Teacher, you must keep the message/lesson and learning experience simple for those who are at this developmental stage. Over time, God expects all to mature and start living on the meat of the Word as -Jackie Golden confirmed in the following passages: For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of m
