So John, the beloved Disciples, informs us in Revelation 21:1 that he sees – “a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
So again, why didn’t God just get rid of all of the bad and fix the original earth? Why didn’t God just press restart and begin again with the first earth? Couldn’t God just patch up what was wrong, get rid of Satan and evilness and call it day? And the answer is He could have except He is very much into the New and New Beginnings therefore so should you.
I’m pressing the concept because there are many people with a stale life. There are many people living a stagnant life. Some may have a comfortable life but none of these lives are the types of lives OUR God has called us to live. He is into the new. Whether it’s time to shake things up, get rid of something bad, or roll out something amazing that’s the mindset we all have to embrace. A comfortable life in God will lead to backsliding. A stagnant life with God will lead to compromise and then backsliding. And a stale life with God means you’ve already backslidden. But His word promises, Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: that’s Philippians 1:6
Our walk with God is just that, a forward moving, onward and upward. Backsliding the opposite motion. Back sliding takes you right back to the old. Backsliding hinders your vision to what’s happening ahead. Backsliding means your feet no longer have solid grand to stand and walk on. Backsliding implies you are slipping backwards, slipping away, slipping out the presence of God. God doesn’t do back. God doesn’t do old. He’s in the new, how about you?
