The AVIVA Stadium played host to the annual conference and the first ever Worldwise Global Schools presentation of “Global Schools Passports” on Tuesday 28th April.

The morning was action packed with a wonderful variety of workshops with NGO’s which involved 27 other schools.

Sean Sherlock, Minister for State and Overseas Development, officiated at the awards ceremony. He began by commenting on the amazing consciousness and commitment of all young people present. He highlighted that the power of young peoples' voices has become more and more potent in terms of the major global challenges. In order to meet “The 2030 Challenge” he encouraged all students to think about where they would be in 15 years. “Our young people will be the global leaders of the future” he said. He reminded all present that technology, connectivity, the fact that the globe has become a more seamless place allows barriers to be broken down and will have a huge impact on their lives.

He thanked all schools for their work and vision. He thanked the ETBI, Worldwise Global Schools, Concern, Self Help Africa and all involved in making the Conference for 2015 a very special occasion.

The Conference ended with the presentation of the Global Schools Passports.

Truth Behind 1,000 Lies

Terrorism doesn’t only consist of war and armoury, submarines and artillery strategies

Government testing chemicals that can be used for allergies plagues damaging brains of innocent Arabic’s.

What’s the reason things happen, yes there is a lack of passion and its clear the we can’t always see what’s going on in action.

Media shed a veil over our eyes, telling us lies but as soon as we all unify we will arise and go now to where we need to be to see the truth behind 1,000 lies

A million lives perishing and baby’s cry’s revolution of Arians

Blame it on masterminds who mastered his mind for evil and greed, they planted a seed

baring fruit of evil principalities

to make our generations plead.

This is the reason why I’m so concerned and being 16 there’s still is so much to learn

but what I know now carries the heat to burn

the mind frame of society fighting for civilization

unify and stand strong as the right nation and that’s my observation.

Congratulations to Sam OJo whose poem was commended in the William Butler Yeats Poetry Competition 2015.
