Chief Executive's Welcome
Welcome to what is a fantastic and vibrant edition of KWETB e-magazine. Every staff member should take the time to read the articles published here. The e-magazine is a great opportunity to learn about and celebrate the success and achievements of KWETB, our learners and staff.
The theme of this edition is Partnerships. The very existence of KWETB is contingent upon strong and productive partnerships at local and national level. Many projects like Music Generation, evening and community use of buildings, transition year, further education and training provision, community education and youth / sports projects are dependent on the creation of good and solid external partnerships. Working together collaboratively generates great achivements in-house too. The message to all KWETB staff is to never underestimate the power of good partnerships established through collaborative and cross functional networking, great things can be and are achieved.
I started writing this article with a view that I would individually mention all those whose accomplishments are reported however due to the high volume of interesting articles this is impossible. I do wish to briefly mention the following as they are a direct result of excellent partnership initiatives and are noteworthy in the context of this article;
Congratulations to Coláiste Chill Mhaintáin and Music Generation on producing KWETBs first charity number 1 in the Irish iTunes charts ‘Your Love Still Guides My Way’.
Literacy Awareness week in Blessington which was a joint project between Blessington Library and Blessington Adult Learning Centre.
A new working partnership group in Kildare between KWETB, County Kildare Leader Project, Turas Nua, Local Employment Services and Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
Maynooth Traveller Mediation and Conflict Training Initiative came about through a collaboration between KWETB, Maynooth University and MTCMI.
I have to commend Youthreach across the ETB for their working together to produce a promotional video of their valuable programme of work and for their great display of learners work presented throughout the e-magazine.
