How to give life to a Character
On the 23rd June 2016, Kiitos@21stCenturyPreschools project team participated in the workshop
"How to give life to a Character. This was developed by Vanessa Reis Esteves and it was a follow-
up of the February training.
The workshop aims were to develop Kiitos mascot, bearing in mind the main features of the
project character; to define the main personality traits, social skills, tastes, interests, and abilities of
the mascot; to choose the mascot
final image within the various mascots presented.
At first, each participant was asked to write a word or sentence in a placard to describe the
project.
Secondly the mascots were presented. They were drawn in the classroom context and others were
individual proposals. After this presentation all participants were asked to vote in three of the
thirteen mascots. After counting the votes, only three mascots were chosen for the next stage. The
first was a koala, the second was a dinosaur and the third was a giraffe. All the participants were
divided into three groups and each group developed one of the three mascots. Several
aspects
were considered such as physical and psychological aspects.
Later the groups developed the mascots’ characteristics, having in mind the aspects already
mentioned.
Following the oral presentations the three mascots were once more voted using the same system
as
the
previous one.
