I DREAM BIG ACADEMY
The I Dream Big Model : I Dream Big Academy began in 2012 with only 15 students and now serves over 200 students in the surrounding areas .
Due to the increasing number of students , I Dream Big Academy will have two locations . The academies will be located on the campuses of Rock Quarry and Southview Elementary Schools . I Dream Big
Academy is known for offering a balanced program including fun and engaging activities , while also focusing on closing the academic gaps in reading and mathematics . All students are given a pre-assessment to determine deficiencies . Teachers use these assessments to develop differentiated and personalized instruction that meet the needs of all students . Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority ( PARA ) announces that it will offer top-notch programming for youth in summer 2022 . PARAkids Summer Day Camp embraces a total day camp experience by providing a quality summer childcare service highlighted by recreational and educational opportunities . As our community develops and evolves , needs for relevance and creativity in serving youth and families change accordingly .
PARA ’ s Youth Program Supervisor , Johnathan Herbert describes the response to a recent community needs survey with enthusiasm to create summer camp experiences that focus on the following top-rated requests :
* Engaging in discovery of science , technology , engineering , arts , and math concepts ( STEAM )
* Providing access to swimming pools , parks , playgrounds , and other PARA resources
* Experiencing nature , outdoors , and environmental education in parks
PARAkids Summer Day Camps will focus on experiential learning and active lifestyles as youth engage with activities based on Hands-On Discovery , Hands-On Arts & Culture , and Hands-On Sports concepts . With access to PARA resources and with the support of community partners and services ,
