WARRIORS ROBOTICS Won Local Robotics Competition , Advanced to Regionals
Warriors Robotics , a mix of homeschool students and students from Riverwood Classical School , with ages ranging from 9 to 15 years old , competed in the East Alabama Hub of the BEST Robotics competition on November 12 , 2021 . The team took first place in the BEST Award given to the best overall team and first in three sub-categories : Robot Performance , Engineering Notebook , and Virtual Exhibit and Interviews . They also took second place in the Marketing Presentation , where they organized outreach in the communities and simulate selling the robot to potential customers .
The theme this year was DemoDaze , where students had eight weeks to use materials provided by their respective hubs to build a robot that could aid the demolition industry in demolishing buildings and sorting and deposing debris safely and efficiently . Students used the engineering design

On December 4th and 5th 2021 , Warriors Robotics competed with 38 teams from AL , TN , MS , GA , and FL hubs in the regional competition at Auburn University . The team won first place in the Exhibit and Interviews category and the robot made it to the semi-finals .

WAX MUSEUM AT THE CAPITOL SCHOOL
The Spotted Eagle Owls Cluster at The Capitol School is proud to share their annual Wax Museum . This year , we are again presenting the speeches virtually .
The students have worked all semester getting to know their historical figure from the 1500 - early 1800 ’ s . Each of them impacted American history in a significant way . Students read biographies , took notes , organized them and then drafted a speech as though they were the person . The last part was dedicated to typing , editing and practicing the speeches for fluency . Finally , each speech was carefully recorded and now it is here to share .
The Spotted Eagles Owls Cluster is the 9 to 11-year-old class at The Capitol School in Tuscaloosa . Mrs . Shelli Lavender is the lead teacher for this cluster .
