Since opening its doors in the Tuscaloosa Galleria in 2013, Expeditions has continued to grow and evolve along with the customers it serves. Originally opened as an outdoor lifestyle store with a strong focus on athleisure and running gear, Expeditions has expanded over the years into a true lifestyle boutique, with an emphasis on unique, on-trend women’ s and men’ s apparel, shoes, accessories, gifts and more.

Two major renovations expanded the store to approximately 5,000 square feet, allowing the selection— and the shopping experience— to grow along with it. Today, Expeditions offers something for everyone, with merchandise spanning multiple price points and a mix of established favorites and distinctive brands the team works to bring exclusively to Expeditions.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE Part of the fun of shopping Expeditions is never knowing exactly what you might find.
The store carries selections for women, men and kids, along with shoes, accessories, eyewear and gifts. That variety makes Expeditions a one-stop destination whether you’ re searching for a new outfit, updating your closet for the season, looking for a great pair of shoes, or trying to find just the right gift for family and friends.
And while the merchandise has evolved through the years, the goal has remained simple: offer customers something special and make shopping for it enjoyable.
A PERSONAL TOUCH
Helping shape that experience are Bret and Mary Katherine, who joined Expeditions in 2016 and have played an important role in the store’ s evolution into the lifestyle boutique it is today. Both are University of Alabama graduates with degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing and, combined, bring more than 49 years of retail experience from Neiman Marcus, Ralph Lauren, and The Shirt Shop. Mary Katherine is married to Chad and has two children, Elizabeth Ann and Charlie; Bret is married to Jon and has three children, Ava, Brody and Hailie Blake. As working moms with a lifelong passion for retail, they understand shopping must fit into a busy life— and sometimes a little help goes a long way.

That understanding of customer needs is a big part of the Expeditions experience. Customers often reach out, asking Bret or Mary Katherine to select an outfit or choose a gift for a friend or family member. That might entail helping put together an outfit, tracking down the right size, choosing a special gift, or simply giving someone the freedom to browse. www. kidslifemagazine. com
