Theatre this holiday season, as the Tuscaloosa Community Dancers( TCD) proudly present their 54th annual production of the beloved ballet from December 11 – 14. A cherished holiday tradition in West Alabama since 1971, The Nutcracker continues to delight audiences of all ages, bringing the community together for a sparkling journey into Clara’ s dream world.
Led by Artistic Director Alden McShan and Executive Director and Costume Director Joyce Phillips, this year’ s production features over 100 dancers from local studios including The Dance Centre, Ballet Arts & Fitness, and Druid City Ballet. With a dazzling mix of local talent and celebrated guest artists, the 2025 Nutcracker promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with holiday magic.
GUEST ARTISTS Headlining this year’ s cast is Emily Bromberg, who will dance the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Emily was a member of Miami november / december 2025The magic of The Nutcracker returns to the Bama
City Ballet for 11 years, where she earned the rank of Principal Soloist. After a season performing in Europe with the Slovak National Theatre, she now dances with Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami while guest performing across the country. Joining her is returning guest artist Rainer Krenstetter as the Cavalier, celebrated for his elegant artistry and partnership on stages around the world. Also returning to the Bama Theatre stage is Carlos Guerra, co-founder of Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami and former Miami City Ballet dancer, reprising his captivating portrayal of Drosselmeyer. Community Cast This year’ s Clara will be danced by Sarah Nelle Lasseter, a sixth grader at Northridge Middle School and daughter of Caroline and Lake Lasseter. Her playful brother Fritz will be portrayed by Avery Bordner, also a sixth grader at Northridge Middle School and son of Michelle and Seth Bordner.
TCD is also proud to highlight its talented senior dancers taking their final bows this season: Ellie Boulware, Northridge High School, performing as Opening Snow, Snow Corps,
