Literacy is so important. Not only is Kids are naturally curious about the Every article is in kid-friendly language

knowledge, it’s the well-spring of
curiosity. Kids who can read are able to
reach out into so many other areas of
curiosity. They can find out about world around them. They want to
know what is going on and they want
to be a part of it. But news is mostly
produced for adults; it can be scary
and gruesome and sometimes dull, and appropriate for kids aged 7-12.
Beyond just making the vocabulary
accessible, we provide context for
everything in each news story, so kids
can understand what’s going on, and
things that have to do with anything
they’re interested in. Kids who can
read have wings, they learn new skills,
explore new worlds, build new ideas,
and change the world. especially for children. But they
shouldn’t be cut off. We think it’s
incredibly important we help ease
them into life by arming them with the
knowledge they need to thrive in a why. We encourage kids to think
critically not only about the story itself,
but about the way the story is
presented. Does the journalist have a
bias? What is it and how could the
complex and frenetic world.

News allows us to deliver that
knowledge in a child-friendly way – to
protect our readers' innocence without story be written differently by another
journalist? what we’re trying to do is
not only teach kids the news, but have
them understand it, think critically
about what they’re hearing, and then
leaving them ignorant.
We write on everything but we focus
on the parts children care about and
we don’t forget the wonder in the
world either! We write stories about apply their knowledge to the real
world. And then, maybe, go out and
make a difference.
