From enchanted princess adventures and time-traveling dinosaur expeditions to high-energy K-Pop choreography and Broadway-style vocal training, TCT offers a diverse lineup of camps designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and celebrate the joy of performance. Whether your child is taking their first bow or training for a professional career, our experienced instructors create a welcoming environment where every camper can shine. With something for everyone— from our youngest Disney Dreamers( ages 4-6) to our advanced Professional Intensive— TCT’ s summer camps combine skill-building with pure theatrical fun. The Upside Down Dramatorium( June 2-4; Ages 8-14; 9am-12pm daily) at Tuscaloosa Children’ s Theatre invites young actors ages 9-14 to explore theatre through a thrilling adventure inspired by Stranger Things. Campers will create mysterious characters, design otherworldly sets and costumes, participate in improv games, and dive into scene work set in parallel dimensions. No experience necessary— just bring your imagination and sense of adventure!
Once Upon a Stage( June 2-4; Ages 4-7; 8:30am-11:30am daily) at Tuscaloosa Children’ s Theatre is a magical princess camp designed for ages 4-7. Young royals will step into enchanted worlds through storytelling, creative movement, and dress-up play. Campers will learn simple songs and dances, craft their own crowns and wands, and participate in a special mini-performance to showcase their royal talents. Perfect for little ones who love all things princess and fairy tale!
Magic Tree House- Dinosaurs Before Dark KIDS( June 8-12 with Performances June 13; Ages 5-18; 9:00am-3:00pm daily) at Tuscaloosa Children’ s Theatre is a Page to Stage camp that brings the beloved book series to life for young performers ages 5-18. Based on Mary Pope Osborne’ s popular adventure, campers will journey back in time with Jack and Annie as they discover a world of dinosaurs and prehistoric wonders. Through acting, music, and movement, participants will explore themes of bravery, curiosity, and sibling teamwork while rehearsing this exciting adaptation. At the end of the week, campers will present a fully realized production for family and friends. This camp welcomes all skill levels and promises a roaring good time for fans of the Magic Tree House series!
Professional Intensive( June 15-19; Ages 14-18; 9:00am- 12:00pm daily) at Tuscaloosa Children’ s Theatre is an advanced training program designed for serious young performers ready to take their craft to the next level. This intensive camp will feature professional instructors from across the theatrical industry— names and credentials to be revealed on our social media in the coming weeks! Students will immerse themselves in a comprehensive curriculum covering acting techniques, vocal performance, movement and dance, audition skills, stagecraft, and more. The week will include dedicated Q & A sessions where campers can ask industry professionals about their careers, training, and experiences in theatre. This is an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring actors to learn from working professionals and gain insight into what it takes to succeed in
