addressing this issue has become a primary concern
for the toy industry”, feels Vivek Jhangiani from the All
India Toy Manufacturers' Association (TAITMA), one of
the supporting organizations of Kids India. The
upcoming fair will once again feature a panel discus-
sion primarily focussed on compliance of standards
(both international and national) on toy safety and

inspecting institutes, manufacturers and retailers.
INCENTIVES FOR INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
“Girl Power” is a theme that supports the interest of
girls and centres on products that help instil strength,
confidence and independence in them to pursue their
interests and goals. The trend “Body and Mind” is all
about bringing body and spirit into balance. This
theme focusses on products that encourage the
physical and mental well-being of children through
play and, in conjunction with fitness and physical
activity, help children enjoy a healthy lifestyle. “Train
Your Brain” include toys that train mental fitness and
help create smart minds. Products that are targeted
towards these trends will be on display at this excep-
tional platform that makes it easy for retailers to
discover them in the ocean of new products. More-
over, an international expert will give a presentation
on toy trends as part of the Seminar & Workshop
programme that runs concurrently to the fair.
International buyers visiting the fair also have good
news. The Indian government in its efforts to boost the
domestic industry will once again offer an ‘Internation-
al Buyers Program’ where in visiting foreign buyers
can obtain a reimbursement on their travel expenses
when they visit Kids India. The programme which is
initiated by the Sports Goods Export Promotion Coun-
cil of India (SGEPC) will go a long way to encourage
more international buyers to come to India and thus
promote exports of Indian made toys and products.
"We expect more buyers to attend the fair this year
especially from the neighbouring countries such as
Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal as well
as from the Africa.”, says Mr. Tarun Dewan, Executive
Director, SGEPC.
