Christmas whirls
These whirls are really gorgeous as the filling can be varied in so many ways depending on your kids‘ taste.
And this cream cheese pastry is one of the easiest pastries you can work with.
Ingredients for about 30-32 pieces:
For the pastry:
225 g cream cheese
320 g flour
225 g unsalted butter
2 tbsp soured cream
2 egg yolks
½ teaspoon salt
2 tbsp icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla paste
1 egg lightly beaten for the egg wash
and 30-32 oven safe lollipop sticks
For the walnut filling:
1 egg white
pinch of salt
100 g ground walnut
2 tbsp icing sugar
2 tbsp candied citrus peel
For the marzipan-prune filling:
80 g marzipan, grated
10 pieces dried prune, finely diced
For the jam filling:
4-5 tbsp christmas flavoured jam
