What good fun we had in London this week-end!!!! To top it all off, the weather was particularly warm for this time of the year with no rain at all.

After an “exhausting” 2 and-a-half-hour train journey, we arrived in London on Friday night around 9.30, after a short stop to the hostel, which was based close to Hyde Park, a particularly nice and quiet district, we had a delicious Italian meal in the same area. Then some people went to have some drink in a pub while the others went back to the hostel for a nice sleep.

Saturday should have been one of these enjoyable and relaxing days when everything is well organized in advanced. Unfortunately some unpredictable things happened and I am going to explain why later…..

On Saturday morning, despite the fact that some of us had had an incredibly short night (no more than 7 minutes!!!) we were all happy to be there and ready to have a good day.

Around 10 am we went to Wonderland, mainly for the ice skating. This place is located in Hyde Park, one of the most famous parks in London, where we took some nice photographs with our dear friend Wagner, who has recently become the school’s mascot.

Once we arrived at Wonderland the group was split up into two and while most of us were having a good fun on the ice, the others (including myself and Wagner) were having a look around the gigantic Christmas Market. Frankly, I must admit that in spite of Lee’s recommendations about the fact we had to take care of Wagner as much as we could one of the worst things happened….. In fact, Wagner is an incredibly nice and quiet dwarf and after a long time staying on my legs I had completely forgotten him and unfortunately, we were downhill when he simply slipped and fell!!!!

I felt so bad and not proud of myself at all when it came time to confess but I did it and we managed to continue the trip with only a small part of him (his head!!!).

In spite of this horrible fact we had a nice afternoon. We walked around some of the most famous places such as Big Ben, the River Thames, and London Bridge etc….

Later in the evening we went back to Wonderland where we were supposed to watch a circus performance, but unfortunately we were running out of time and the place was completely over crowded, honestly I have rarely seen that before!!! In these conditions being on time was such a hard job and as I expected we simply missed the show!!!! But it was not the end of the world at all and instead we all had a nice time in a pub where we stayed until late and only the guitarist was a bit disappointing.

On Sunday, the tiredness caught up with us but we had enough energy to do whatever we wanted. So the group was split up, for instance having a bike ride around the city, visiting some nice place or going to the British museum. In my view the latter is amazing, especially if you are keen on art and culture, it’s also good value for money because it’s free and it’s also a good opportunity to have a small taste of a large range of culture inspired by art.

To conclude, these two days flew by incredibly fast, this atmosphere was more than good that’s why we really need to do it again, it’s just not enough!!!
