Strawberries, squash, melons, beans and more are all finding their way onto plates and showing their best attributes. With so many markets showcasing seasonal offerings, it’s a great time to make a quick stop at a local farmers market or stand. Pick from the freshest produce and local crafts at the weekly summer Farmer’s Market featuring local certified organic produce, fresh local seafood, packaged and prepared food, as well as Lowcountry Rosebank Farm Stand 4362 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island Open Daily | April - December | 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Just down Besty Kerrison from the island, this stand isn’t a farmers market per se but it’s too good to miss. Pick up locally grown heirloom tomatoes, field fresh greens, eggs, baked goods and a selection of wildflowers for your table. Rosebank often hosts food trucks with seating available in the shade. Johns Island Farmers Market 2024 Academy Road, Johns Island Saturdays | Year Round | 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Johns Island is the traditional home of agriculture in the Charleston area. Sample some of the best local offerings at the Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market. All produce is certified SC Grown. Charleston Farmers Market Marion Square - 329 Meeting Street, Charleston Saturdays | April - November | 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Every Saturday through Nov. 30, make the drive downtown to visit the Charleston Farmers Market for fresh local produce, made-to-order brunch, packaged food products, artisans, crafters, live music, community groups, jump castles and more!
