Tina’s rules of engagement with the bugs 1. Take one day or hour at a time – good or bad. This is how Kial thinks. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Each night, write in your journal 2 good things about the day, it will help you sleep. A support system has concentric circles. Kial is in the centre. If ripples occur in outer circles, look inwards & stay focused. Children need boundaries to stay happy and balanced. Maintaining them is important for their wellbeing. In quiet moments feed Kial’s brain. Remember stress affects the immune system. So does laughter. Your rest and relaxation are an essential part of Kial’s recovery. Always remember that your husband has very good kisses. I had a best friend. We met when we went out with twins in the early 80’s. She circled back into my life when Kial was diagnosed and scripted the above, gluing the rules into the front of a diary she asked me to keep when Kial first made it into remission, post diagnosis with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I hope our lives connect again but I haven’t seen her since she visited when Gabriel, our youngest was born.
