101 WESTON LABS HELPS DRIVE INNOVATION
INSURTECH ACCELERATOR HELPS EIGHT COMPANIES BRING NEW TECH TO INDEPENDENT AGENTS
This summer , our counterparts at the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina launched 101 Weston Labs , an insurtech “ accelerator ” aimed at supporting forward-thinking entrepreneurs in their effort to build scalable startups focused on enhancing independent agencies .
The inaugural cohort included eight such companies , and over a twelve week period they worked to further develop their minimum viable product ( MVP ) and also scale what some had already gone to market with .
Along with help from an influential group of agents and industry contributors on their Advisory Council , the cohort completed the process and “ pitched ” to an industry group at Demo Day in August .
