REFLECTING ON THE YEAR GONE BY
By : Commissioner Vicki Schmidt
It ’ s the most wonderful time of year ! Not just a wonderful holiday season but a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year .
As I reflect on 2021 , the Department accomplished some big things . We celebrated 150 years of service to Kansas as an agency in March . In April , we celebrated the passage of SB 37 , the producer licensing reforms that felt like they took 150 years to pass , and we closed out the year by passing accreditation through the NAIC .
I truly appreciate the honor of serving you as your commissioner , and I wish you a wonderful holiday season full of joy . As always , thank you for your work on behalf of Kansas consumers . If there is ever something you think can work better or help other Kansans have a better experience , please share it with me at kid . commissioner @ ks . gov .
All of these things were possible because of dedicated staff at the Department and great industry partners , like you , who understand the importance of running an efficient operation .
The role of a regulator is not always a fun one , and it comes with challenges . Those challenges have been much easier to navigate because we are all working toward the common goal of making Kansas an attractive place to do business .
