IN MEMORIAM : GALEN HAAS
Longtime KAIA member Glen Haas of Sunflower Insurance Services in Clifton passed unexpectedly on August 26 , 2024 , at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka .
He grew up in the Vining and Clifton communities and attended the Clifton Schools graduating in 1969 . He married JoDee Branfort on June 12 , 1971 . They were the proud parents of two sons .
He worked at Benteman farms until he returned to School at Brown Mackie College in Salina . He then worked at the Clifton Grain Elevator and later purchased Sunflower Insurance Services .
IN MEMORIAM : JAMIE LOWE
Longtime KAIA member Jamie Lowe of Prairie Land Insurance in Lawrence passed away suddenly on November 10 .
He owned and operated Prairie
Land Insurance for fourteen years , which was a family-owned business for fifty years and was started by his mother , Anne .
He graduated from the University of Kansas with a BS in Business , Graduate School of Banking and also received a Master ' s degree in Business from Baker University . He was extremely active in his community and leaves behind his wife , Bonnie , four children , and three grandchildren .

Safeco has partnered with Main Street America to take over its personal lines policies as Main Street shifts its focus entirely to commercial insurance .
This agreement , set to begin in Q2 ' 25 pending regulatory approval , allows Safeco to expand in 22 states while Main Street America supports its agents in providing continued service for personal lines clients .
ACUITY TO HIRE 200 IN 2025
Acuity Insurance announced plans to hire more than 200 employees in 2025 , with most hires coming from new openings and positions . Job openings will span nearly every area of the company .
