A DISCUSSION WITH KAIA MEMBER TIM BONNELL JR . OF AERIS INSURANCE
We recently talked with Tim Bonnell Jr ., CIC , CAIP , Founder , President & CEO of Aeris Insurance Solutions in Olathe , about his agency ’ s commercial lines specialties and how they developed . He shared some great insight with us that others may draw from .
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE “ STORY ” OF YOUR AGENCY ?
Tim : I gained my start in the aviation insurance business with my father , Tim Bonnell Sr .’ s , agency . I spent time in his office growing up and did odd jobs throughout my youth .
I joined the agency full time following college and served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 14 years . We sold that agency to a large regional P & C agency in 2014 . I worked in that agency for six months following the sale . One year later I began to rebuild my book of business through a friend ’ s aviation insurance agency . In January of 2018 , they helped convert my book of business into Aeris Insurance Solutions .
I was determined to build an agency built on the purpose , values , and vision that I had been given . I learned a lot of key lessons ( good and bad ) through
